Revolver 세션때 녹음되었다. 폴의 증폭된 베이스음과 코러스가 깔린 경쾌한 록사운드의 곡이다. 정규앨범에 수록되지 않고 Past Masters에서 들을 수 있다. 가사 내용은 삼류소설가에 대한 곡으로, 비틀즈의 싱글 중 최초로 사랑노래가 아닌 노래이다.[1] 작곡 배경에는 더 이상 사랑노래가 아닌 노래를 만들어달라는 팬레터를 받은 폴이 링고가 읽고 있던 책에서 영감을 받았다는 설과 친구의 서점 개업을 도와준 폴이 거기서 영감을 받았다는 설이 있다. 존 레논은 박력 있는 퍼즈 톤의 기타 록이 담겨있다는 점에서 Day Tripper의 자식같은 곡이라고 언급했다. 하드 락, 파워 팝, 싸이키델릭 락 장르의 곡이다.
