1. 설명

팔색조과는 참새목의 과 중 하나이다. 한국에도 살고 있는 팔색조와 푸른날개팔색조 등이 여기에 포함된다. 몸은 전체적으로 화려한 편이다.

2. 상세

1개의 속에 하위 종들이 있는 방식으로 분류가 되었으나, 최근에는 3개의 속으로 분류된다.[1] 하위 분류를 할 때는 보통 30개 내외의 종이 분류되는데, 현재는 34개의 종으로 분류된다.[2][3]
