데뷔곡인 '까만밤의 아리아' 음악 방송에서 표정이 다양하고 자연스러워 눈이 간다는 평이 많다. 
윙크 등 표정 사용을 잘한다. 그래서인지 엔딩 요정을 많이 했다. 큰 키와 대비되는 귀여운 얼굴의 소유자다.

== 데뷔전 활동 ==
어린시절 성악을 했어서 데뷔전에 총 7개의 성악곡 음원을 발표하였다. 그 중 5곡은 머가영이란 이름으로 음원을 냈었다.
서울시 음악영재였다고 한다.
15세 때 첫 작사작곡 음원 <권력>을 발매하였다. 발매일 순서대로 <하얀나비>, <그 나무 그 자리에>, <만약>, <순수>, <For You>, <여수어시장>이 있다.

2018년 4월 [[믹스나인]]에 같이 참가했던 기존 올망졸망의 데뷔조인 강시현과 김윤지, 새로운 연습생 4명과 함께 스타제국걸즈(현재 [[엠파이어걸스]])라는 이름으로 들어간 사실이 확인되었다.

[[믹스나인]]의 실패로 예비 전력이 고갈된 [[스타제국]]은 결국 [[프로듀스 48]]에 나서지 않았다. 사실상 [[믹스나인]] 믿었다가 피를 본 셈이다.

한동안 정식 데뷔가 불투명했으나, 2019년 10월에 정식 데뷔가 확정됐다.
== 여담 ==
 * 정면돌파 랩은 믹스나인 오디션 심사 전날 자신감을 찾고자 즉석으로 작사하였다고 한다. 오디션에서 할 생각은 없었지만 보여줄 게 뭐가 있을까 하다가 정면 돌파 랩을 하게 되었다고 한다. 이후로 정면돌파는 장효경의 트레이드마크가 되었다.

 * 16살부터 연습생 생활을 시작했다. 아리아즈로 데뷔하기까지 연습생 기간은 5년이다.

 * 클래식 음악을 하다 우연히 아이돌 연습생 생활을 시작한케이스다. 성악을 전공하다가 친언니가 아이돌을 추천해서 효경 몰래 지원서를 넣었는데 덜컥 한 번에 합격해서 연습생 생활을 시작했다. 그래서 발성을 바꾸는데 힘들었다고 한다.

 * 스트레스 해소와 힐링의 방법으로 자연에 관한 것을 보는것으로, 영감의 원천도 자연환경에서 얻는다고 한다. 출연하고 싶은 예능도 정글의 법칙이다.
