[목차] == 개요 == 대중음악 잡지 [[피치포크]]에서는 연대별로 최고의 앨범을 선정하는 작업을 해오고 있다. 70년대부터 2000년대까지 작업이 끝났으며, 2010년대 역시 작업 중에 있다. 90년대(1999년, 2003년 개정) - 80년대(2002년, 2018년 개정) - 70년대(2004년) - 2000년대(2009년) - 60년대(2017년[* 60년대에는 앨범 단위로 음악을 듣는게 익숙하지 않았다는 이유로 명곡 리스트만 작성했었다고 밝혔다가 입장을 바꾸어 60년대 명반 리스트를 제작했다. 따라서 가장 제작 순서가 늦다.]) 순서로 작성하였으며, 초기에는 한 리스트당 100개를 선정했지만 2000년대 리스트부터는 200개씩 선정 중이다. 롤링스톤이나 NME 등과는 달리 올타임 베스트 리스트는 2017년 현재 작성하지 않았다. 피치포크답게 다른 매체들과는 상당히 다른 리스트를 보여준다. 전반적으로 21세기 이후의 시점에서 갖는 음악적 파급력을 바탕으로 순위를 매기는 성향이 강하다. 당대에는 조명받지 못했던 인디 그룹들이[* 주로 [[벨벳 언더그라운드]] 이래 이어지는 뉴욕 인디나 7~80년대 영국 포스트 펑크, 8~90년대의 미국 인디 밴드들이 상당히 재조명받았다.
