이 곡은 사실 발매 당시 9년 전에 나온 [[릭 제임스]]의 슈퍼 프릭을 무단 샘플링한 곡이다. 아예 곡 전체의 리프를 통째로 가져와 놓고 워워워워하는 후렴구까지 몽땅 때려 박았는데 이래놓고 가사는 자신의 성공담을 늘어놓으며 자뻑하는 아이러니한 내용을 보여준다. 이 사실은 결국 법정 다툼으로 이어졌고 저작권 침해가 인정되어 MC 해머는 [[릭 제임스]]에게 수백만 달러가 넘는 로열티를 지불해야 했다.
