== 개요 ==
일본 [[히로시마현]] [[후쿠야마시]]에 위치한 [[JR 니시니혼]]의 철도역이다. [[산요 신칸센]], [[산요 본선]], [[후쿠엔선]]이 지나며, 후쿠야마시의 중심역이다. 신칸센의 경우, [[노조미]]는 정차하지만 [[미즈호]]는 정차하지 않으며, 그 외 모든 등급의 신칸센은 이 역에 정차한다. 산요 본선의 경우 [[오카야마역]]과 이 역 사이에 선 라이너가 운행되고 있다.

이 역의 바로 북쪽에 후쿠야마성이 자리잡고 있으며 현립 역사박물관, 후쿠야마 미술관 등도 있다. 남쪽에는 후쿠야마 시청, 텐마야, 각종 금융시설이 있고 호텔도 많다. 버스는 주로 남쪽에서 선다.

2016년 3월 26일부터 [[227계 전동차]]가 이 역까지 운행한다.
